About Us

Dedicated Educators

We are a proudly established dance studio located in Old Town Scottsdale, serving our community since 1976.

Trisha Hammer, the former owner of Scottsdale School of Dance, was one of the studio’s very first students—performing in its inaugural recital. Years later, she purchased the studio from her beloved teacher, Noel Irick, and carried on the tradition with passion and pride, keeping the children of South Scottsdale dancing, twirling, and pointing their toes.

In 2022, Trisha’s oldest daughter, Blayke, took over as the current Director of Scottsdale School of Dance, continuing the legacy of excellence, family, and community that the studio was built upon.

At Scottsdale School of Dance, we work to nurture both the skills and confidence of every dancer who walks through our doors. We’re dedicated to helping our students reach new levels of technique while also building a strong sense of self—so they can learn to trust their bodies, both in and out of the studio.

We believe that dance is more than movement—it's an art form that fosters self-awareness, using the body as a tool for expression and connection. It has the power to help even the shyest dancers come out of their shell and discover their voice through movement.

We welcome students as young as 4 years old, and proudly offer classes for beginners who are new to the art of dance. No matter your age or experience level, there's a place for you in our dance family.

At Scottsdale School of Dance, our mission is to build self-esteem and confidence in every student by teaching in a positive, encouraging, and welcoming environment. Our goal is not only to inspire a love and appreciation for the arts through dance, but also to help students develop a strong, positive sense of self that extends beyond the studio.
